Director – Training & Education, Indian Resuscitation Council Federation
The Indian Resuscitation Council Federation is involved in the process of developing the specific ability and competency required for effective performance in resuscitation training. The science of resuscitation is a very sensitive subject and it is mandatory for all healthcare providers to acquire the basic and comprehensive skills with knowledge. With improved skill and performance, there is high potential of saving many lives.
The focus of IRCF is to provide well-structured training to all doctors and paramedic healthcare workers in resuscitation, to enhance the survival rate of individuals — and survival with full neurological function. IRCF provides various evidence-based guidelines and courses to train individuals with different healthcare profiles. The training includes knowledge and information sharing as well as very comprehensive skill training, testing and certification.
The programme of Compression-Only Life Support is focused on sudden cardiac arrest outside the healthcare premise and is designed to train every citizen. The motto is "Your two hands can save a life". IRCF guidelines and courses fulfil the mandatory requirement of the NMC for training of all graduate and post-graduate students, and also NABH accreditation.
To accomplish the mission of spreading the science of resuscitation, IRCF has a network of CRTC centres across the country, and a structured programme to train the trainers who provide high-quality skill-based training to healthcare providers and students. I wish to make a humble appeal to all healthcare leaders in India to propagate the IRCF guidelines across the country and improve healthcare service to mankind. Let us join hands to fulfil the vision and mission of IRCF.
